About

California Scholastic Journalism Initiative is a non-profit effort to restore and improve student journalism programs in the California public schools. Under pressure from high stakes testing and budget cuts, student media programs (and music, drama, art, debate and other electives) are being eliminated or severely truncated. CSJI helps develop and support collaborative efforts involving funders, professional media, and education organization to rebuild journalism programs, especially in urban high schools where they are most at risk.
